Film maker Balki plans on Meryl Streep for Big B

We`v been hearing a buzz which says that filmmaker Balki has big plans for his upcoming film. Sources say that the noted director is considering Hollywood top actress Meryl Streep to cast opposite our Bollywood`s legendary icon Amitabh Bachchan. And for that he’s currently busy finalising the script. But if his plan does not work then Balki has alternative idea too, to cast the yesteryear beauty Sridevi instead of Meryl.
Although our Big B plans on no qualms of roping the international actress. In fact his only concern is to make sure that the script justifies the casting.
Sources tell that Balki is busy preparing two scripts. One of them is a cross-cultural love story. The other is a desi romance about two people past the supposedly permissible age of romance. On the other hand Big B told that Balki has not yet spoken about the project and they are soon planning to meet and discuss the matter.

Hyundai to increase car prices in September

Hyundai will increase car prices in September in India by 1.2% due to a rise in the input costs. The price of Hyundai`s small cars, namely Santro and i10, would have a Rs. 3,500 price hike in the basic models. Whereas Sonata Would go up by Rs. 10,000.
The Hyundai Motor India’s director (Marketing & Sales), Arvind Saxena, said, “We have tried to absorb as much of the cost as we can, but there has been consistent increase in the commodity prices that forced us to pass some of it to the customers.”
Maruti also raised prices by around 1.5% from August 1. It had hiked the price of all its models by up to Rs7,500, except its entry-level product Alto.
Japanese carmaker Toyota Kirloskar Motors also announced price revision of its products across categories from October this year. Toyota Kirloskar Motors deputy MD (marketing) Sandeep Singh says, “Input cost pressure is very high and the fluctuation in Yen is also affecting us. We will review the prices of our products in October.”

Sony with its new Android Phone

Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 finally reveals itself, and it is assumed that it will have a higher appeal and socially focused demographic.
The X10 as been fixed into Android, skinned with two features called Mediascape (for managing your music collection) and Timescape (for managing your social network updates and more). Mediascape is just an overdone music manager, but Timescape is more than that. It chiefly puts everything you do into a chronological order, which includes the photos you’ve snapped, Twitter updates and phone calls. It takes a little time to get used to it, but it quickly becomes very enjoyable and is very addictive.
Other features on X10 includes, 8.1-megapixel camera which is much better than any of the cameras in any other phones. X10 even has face recognition feature.
it has an excellent audio quality. It still has a few drawbacks in the performance area, but they are negligible.

Nokia Phones Hacked for Android

This is for all those Nokia lovers who wished it had a better operating system. Some of the developers have listened to your prayers. These developers have created a compatible version of the Android operating system for Nokia’s internet tablets, as part of a project called NITDroid.
Terrence Eden, a U.K.-based mobile consultant who installed Android 1.6 “Donut” on his Nokia N810, told, “Nokia’s hardware is fantastic but their software is suboptimal, slow, buggy and not always the best user experience, Android is a much better software environment for Nokia hardware than what Nokia provides.”
So far, they have attempted to port Android for Nokia’s tablet range of devices, i.e. Nokia N770, N800, N810 and N900.
Eden said, Tweaking the Nokia phones to change its operating system to Android isn’t for everyone.
“It’s not something anyone off the street can do,” he says. “It’s a bit like installing Linux on the PC that you bought off Best Buy.”

Another Nano In flames in Delhi

At a parking lot in Aurobindo Marg, Delhi on Friday a Nano went up in flames at a parking lot in Aurobindo Marg on Friday. And this happned Just after three months of Tata Motors citifying Nano as “absolutely safe”.
This car belonged to a Supreme Court advocate who had just pulled into the parking lot around 11.30am when driver Patrick John noticed sparks coming from the rear, where the engine is located. John says ” I was waiting in the car, having just parked it, when sparks started coming out.” Thankfully he managed to get out on seeing sparks; in all of two minutes, only a charred frame remained.
This has been the third case of a Nano burning after the Two similar incidents in Vadodara and Mumbai earlier this year following which Tata Motors launched an inquiry.
editor-inchief of Zigwheels , Adil Jal Darukhanawala said, “It is possible that the car had been tweaked to add some features like power windows or a fancy audio system where the wiring was not done properly.”

A makeover for Honda Jazz

Honda`s Jazz with a composite makeover will make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in September, bringing lower emissions and improved fuel economy to the sporty looking car loved by many.
With Honda’s environment friendly Civic Hybrid which is no longer being sold in India, Honda is now showcasing the world’s first B-segment Jazz at the Paris Motor Show in September. Featuring the practicality and flexibility of the present Jazz, but with reduced CO2 emissions and improvements to fuel economy, the hybrid version of the hatchback will go on sale in the UK in early 2011.
This new Jazz will feature the same engine as Honda’s Insight hybrid; a 1.3-litre i-VTEC engine combined with a CVT gearbox, with an electric motor sandwiched between the two to create a parallel hybrid system.
This new beautified version can be distinguished by revised headlights with a blue surround, clear rear lights, new front grille, restyled bumpers and a chrome tailgate garnish. Interior has also been given a fresh look, with a darker single colour dashboard, which contrasts strongly with the blue lighting of the dials and dashboard instruments.

Mariah Carey Is Pregnant

Mariah Carey is four months pregnant with husband Nick Cannon’s baby. The Couple dose not want to talk to the media about it though. The rumours as to when Mariah would get pregnant have been quite the hot topic over a couple of years now.
Nick was asked on a radio show on 92.3 FM, on Monday on whether or not Mariah was pregnant. To this his reply was that he’d rather debate the legitimacy of psychedelic mushrooms. He also said, “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it time and time again — when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her.” However, the person whose loose lips sunk a ship said Mariah has no intention of ever confirming her pregnancy.
But we all can just congratulate the couple nevertheless.

Lindsay finally out of the rehab

UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital released Lindsay Lohan on the 24th night after being there for a confounding 23 days out of what was supposed to be 90 days. It has also been reported that she’ll receive outpatient care for the “foreseeable future.”
Sources say that a week at the Hospital costs $17,850, and that doesn’t include the cost for tests, therapists, doctors, or medication. Along with all that, her stay alone sums up to be about $40,000 a week — or $130,400 for all 23 days. If she had completed Judge Marsha Revel’s sentence of 90 days, the bill would have been around $520,000, but apparently the doctors at the Hospital believed the Judge overreacted when she recommended Lindsay serve 90 days, and that her ADHD or chemical dependencies weren’t nearly as severe as she made them out to be.

iPhone now has Wikinvest

Wikinvest has launched its mobile initiative with its iPhone app, which can be found live in the Apple Store. The Wikinvest is one of the first app that allows iPhone users mobile access to their personal portfolios as well as the latest investment news.
